John Vernon was born in Burlington and received his law degrees from Wake Forest University in 1967 and New York University in 1969. He has been active in the Tax Section of the N.C. Bar Association and served as President of the N.C. State Bar. He has served on the Boards of May Memorial Library and the Alamance County Arts Association. He is presently on the Board of Legal Aid of North Carolina and the Alamance County YMCA.
