Ryan H. Stewart was born in North Adams, Massachusetts. He is a graduate of St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, Cum Laude (2002) with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Philosophy, where he was inducted as an Honorary Member of Phi Sigma Tao, the International Honor Society in Philosophy. Mr. Stewart received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Elon University School of Law in Greensboro, North Carolina, Magna Cum Laude (2009), where he served as an Executive Editorial Board Member and as the Managing Editor of the Elon Law Review.
Between his undergraduate and graduate education, he worked in the Engineering and Operations Department and later as Research Administrator at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina.
Mr. Stewart maintains a general practice with an emphasis on Business Entities, Commercial Law, Commercial Real Estate and Estate Planning. He is a member of the American Bar Association’s Sections on Business Law, Public Contract Law, State and Local Government Law, as well as Taxation. He is also a member of the State Bar of North Carolina, the North Carolina Bar Association, the Greensboro Bar Association and the Alamance County Bar Association.
Mr. Stewart has formerly served as a member of the Elon University Innocence Project, in affiliation with the North Carolina Center on Actual Innocence. Mr. Stewart recently worked in conjunction with the President of the Wake County Bar Association, the 10th Judicial District Bar and the Chief Justice’s Commission of Professionalism to evaluate and report on the state of mentoring in the Wake County legal community. Mr. Stewart is currently a member of the Alamance County Chamber of Commerce.
