Jeffrey A. Andrews, a principal in the Burlington law firm of Vernon, Vernon, Wooten, Brown, Andrews & Garrett, P.A., will participate as the featured speaker at the December 13, 2011 Alamance County Area Chamber of Commerce Business Development Series meeting.  The topic will be Social Media:  Workplace Friend or Foe?

Mr. Andrews will offer the seminar participants his unique insights gained from over 34 years of experience in employment, business and intellectual property law related legal issues.  The seminar will discuss key legal issues affecting both (i) business owners and (ii) employees who use social media both within and outside the workplace.

Mr. Andrews is a principal in the Burlington law firm of Vernon, Vernon, Wooten, Brown, Andrews & Garrett, P.A. Jeffrey A. Andrews has been extensively involved in numerous professional and civic organizations in Alamance County and North Carolina for over thirty (30) years including the United Way, Hospice, Alamance CARES, Alamance Citizens for Education (“ACE”), Ralph Scott LifeServices and Alamance Community College Foundation.

Each year, Vernon Law hosts a celebratory luncheon at the Alamance Country Club to recognize its employees for their service and dedication to the law firm. This year's celebration took place on April 27, 2011.

Those being honored included: Stephanie Bowes (5 years); Hattie Sheets (5 years); Annette Younger (20 years); Teresa Stacey (25 years); and Barbara Parrish (40 years).

On Saturday, April 9, 2011, the Vernon Law Firm continued their tradition of participating in Alamance County's annual March of Dimes March for Babies held at the Tanger Outlets in Mebane.

Wearing t-shirts specially designed by Vernon Law, a group of our employees and their families joined in the walk helping to raise money in support of stronger, healthier babies.

When you walk in March for Babies, you give hope to the more than half a million babies born too soon each year. The money you raise supports programs in your community that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies. And it funds research to find answers to the problems that threaten our babies.

Mr. Wooten is from Alamance County and served as Clerk of Superior Court of Alamance County from 1968 until 1972. He has served as Chairman of the Family Law Section of the N.C. Bar Association and is a frequent lecturer at Family Law seminars. He is Past President of the Alamance County Bar Association. Mr. Wooten has been a founding member of Vernon, Vernon, Wooten, Brown, Andrews & Garrett, P.A. for 38 years.
